Dark Shadows was one of my favorite soap operas of all time. I used to watch re-runs of it when I was a child. I had such a crush on Barnabus! lol
You are so brave with your painting. I do landscapes because I know what a tree and grass look like. I do abstracts because if you screw it up who can tell, right?
You on the other hand, do something like this which marvelous, actually looks like the character, and uses such bold and vibrant colors. I love how you can SEE the paint strokes, how they form the shapes and creases . I would never have thought to use those kind of colors if I did attempt a picture like this, but you? You're fearless, and you come out with something magnificent like this.
Orange creases on the eyelid, with orange in the background and touches of orange in his face tying it all together The yellow cast to his face, and on his sleeve, again bringing it all together. Your use of color is amazing to me. I learn so much just by looking at your paintings.
I may not comment on all of them, but I do look at them. You might call yourself my over all visual reference books for ideas and learning what works.
I know this has been up here for a long time, but I just came across it today, and since I'm in a painting mode I noticed more of the painting aspects rather than juts the "hey man! That's cool. Wow, I like that! Yo! That looks like Barnabus!" feelings.
You are such an inspiration to me my friend.
