You did a really great job with thise painting. My first thought was that you depicted a saint or a monk or someone like that. I guess that's mostly because of the simple robe and the long beard he wears.

You chose a classic protrait for your painting but mastered the task to present it in an interesting style that would not bore the viewer. The structures in the pictures also keep it interesting for the viewers eyes.
The colors are great, the different tones of brown, skin color, ochre and grey-white fit together really good. This way you created a harmonious composition of colors. I think it is this use of "earthly" colors that makes him look like a saint (like in those old Jesus films) or a monk. I also really like the bright shimmer just above his head - it nearly looks like a halo.

I really love how you got this much details into your painting with so broad and nearly rough strokes of your brush. This way you got the realistic style together with the charme of a more roughly looking painting.

So, all in all: Great work! :)

You do such a wonderful job with acrylics. I paint with them, and am nowhere near your level of talent, but I know the difficulties involved in using that medium. Your brush strokes are bold and smooth, and give your painting a very smooth finished look. The detail you managed to achieve in his face is remarkable. The shading and shadows, the wrinkles. They're marvelous. I love the colors you managed to use, giving the picture a rather unique theme. The hair, I could go on and on about the hair. It's so realistic, and disheveled looking. That you were able to achieve such a look is a testament to your talent. The overall effect of your painting is one of realism, coupled with strong confident painting strokes that makes me envy you your talent. I can't find a single flaw that I could comment on, I can do nothing but rave on the beauty of your painting. I would hang this on my wall in a New York Minute. You are an extremely talented painter. Keep up the great work. :)
